Q1 What is Raycop, and how does the anti-allergy care system work?
In the first step, a powerful vibrating pad releases dust mites hooked into the fabric with their barbwire like legs. Next, Raycop’s UV-C germicidal lamp sterilizes the surface of the fabric. Dust mites and their waste are then captured and trapped in a cartridge, while the Micro Allergy Filter prevents the allergens from being released back into the air.

Q2 What can be cleaned with Raycop?
Bedding and mattresses, in particular, contain millions of dust mites, allergens and other bacteria that can aggravate or lead to symptoms of allergies such as asthma and atopic dermatitis.

Q3 What is UV light and what is a UV-C germicidal lamp?
The sun naturally produces ultraviolet (UV) light- an electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light. One type of UV light, known as UV-C is considered “germicidal UV” because it can kill most bacteria, such as E. Coli and Staphylococcus Aureus while damaging or destroying a dust mite’s ability to reproduce. Raycop is the first product to harness UV-C for cleaning household fabrics by fitting a germicidal lamp to the underside of a handheld vacuum.

Q4 How does Raycop make it safe to use UV-C for sanitizing fabrics in your home?
How does Raycop safeguard using UV-C for sanitizing fabrics in the home? As a safeguard, Raycop provides built in safety measures. To unlock a Raycop, the user must plug the vacuum in and press and hold the Control button for three seconds until a beep is heard. The user will select a cleaning mode to begin. In the “sterilization” mode, the UV-C lamp will stay on as long as the unit is fully in contact with the surface of the fabric. Raycop’s built-in sensors will detect when the vacuum is lifted more than 5cm away from the fabric, automatically shutting the lamp off preventing exposure of the UV-C light to the users’ skin and eyes. The UV-C bulb is enclosed in a protective quartz tube.

Q5 How do I know the UV-C sterilization lamp on my Raycop is working?
You can tell the UV-C lamp is on when you see its light shining through the narrow windows of the cover. If the lamp shuts off, simply reposition the Raycop, making sure the entire unit is on the surface being cleaned and the lamp will light up again automatically.

Q6 How do I choose which cleaning mode to use? Do I have to use all of Raycop’s cleaning features at the same time?
Raycop makes it easy to select different cleaning cycle modes to meet your needs. With one button you can turn the unit on or off, select one of three cleaning modes, and easily switch modes while cleaning.

• STERILIZATION
What is on? The UV-C lamp is on.
What is it doing? Killing bacteria, virus, mold, fungi and dust mites.
When do I use this mode? When you want Raycop to sterilize fabrics, but when vacuuming is not possible or not recommended.

• STERILIZATION & CLEANING
What is on? Choosing this mode activates the UV-C sterilizing lamp and the Vacuum.
What is it doing?Killing bacteria, virus, mold, fungi, destroying dust mites and removing allergens from the fabric.
When do I use this mode? When you want to clean hard surfaces such as wood floors and tiles without using the vibrating pad.

• VIBRATING, STERILIZATION & CLEANING
What is on? The vibrating pad, the UV-C lamp and the Vacuum are on.
What is it doing? The vibrating pad dislodges embedded dust mites, the UV-C lamp kills bacteria, virus, mold, fungi and destroys dust mites and the vacuum removes allergens from the fabric.
When do I use this mode? When you want to clean fabric materials, such as pillows, cushions, mattresses, blankets and sofas while using the vibrating pad.

Q7 How has Raycop’s anti-allergy care system been tested and proven?
Raycop has been awarded the globally recognized British Allergy Foundation Seal of Approval as the first UV-C Anti-Allergy system of its kind, scientifically proven to significantly reduce allergens such as bacteria and dust mites. The Tokyo Allergy Center authorized by the Japanese Government and Food Research Laboratory has also proven Raycop’s allergy care system’s ability with testing processes of more than one year.

Q8 Is Raycop easy to use?
With a length and width of just over one foot (0.35m) and height of six inches (0.5m), Raycop is very portable and convenient to store. The dust cartridge is easy to remove and clean and an indicator light reminds you when the micro allergy filter needs to be replaced.

Q9 How does Raycop help prevent allergy symptoms and diseases in children and adults?
Raycop attacks and removes the source of the problem- dust mites, dust mites’ feces and its protein, bacteria, fungi and mold which can all lead to a variety of allergic symptoms and chronic conditions like asthma. Asthma accounted for 14 million missed school days in the United States in 2000 and U.S. Consumers spend nearly $17 billion on allergy and asthma related products each year.

Q10 Where do these harmful dust mites live?
Dust mites are in every home and thrive best in warm, moist environments where they quickly multiply by the thousands. An average household bed contains millions of dust mites at any given time. Dust mites feed on a person’s dead skin cells and then deposit their fecal pellets on home furnishings such as beds, pillows and bedding.

Q11 What is Raycop’s “Fabric Adsorption Proof Design”?
Raycop’s patented protective airflow design on the bottom of the unit prevents fabrics from clogging the canal of air inflow.

Q12 How often should I use my Raycop?
The more you use, the better. For optimal results, use your Raycop two to three times per week. To ensure dust mites, bacteria and other allergens do not build up in your home, we recommend using your Raycop once a week at the very minimum.
